We’re excited to roll out a key improvement to the PRN (as-needed) medication workflow—removing unnecessary admin hour requirements and adding intelligent dosing suggestions.

📋 What’s New:

PRN Meds No Longer Require Admin Hours:
Say goodbye to confusing errors! When adding or editing PRN medications, Admin Hours are now optional, and no more “Missing Admin Hours” alerts in Med Pass.

Suggested Next Dose Time:
Curenta now helps guide safer administration by suggesting the next available dose time based on the last administered time and the medication’s frequency (e.g., q6h, q4h).

🧭 How It Works:

➡️ When Adding/Editing a Medication:

• If marked as PRN, the Admin Hours field becomes optional

• No validation error for leaving it blank

➡️ In Med Pass:

• PRN meds appear as needed—no scheduled hours required

• Users can:

  • Click to administer the PRN medication

  • Enter a required reason for use

  • Add optional notes

• The system suggests:

  • Next suggested dose time (based on frequency rules)

  • Example: “Next suggested time: 6:00 PM” for Norco q6h

  • Displayed in the Administration Time column
