Improved Refusal Logging – Track Multiple Medication Attempts with Context

🏝 Roadmap

To strengthen medication documentation and care continuity, Curenta now allows multiple refusal attempts to be logged for each medication during Med Pass. This new enhancement supports better accountability, communication, and follow-up across shifts and staff.

πŸ’Š What’s New:

  • Med Techs can now log more than one refusal attempt for the same medication, directly from the [Med Pass] interface.

  • Each attempt includes:

    • Date & Time

    • Staff Member

    • Refusal Reason (dropdown or free-text)

    • Optional Comments for context

πŸ” How It Works:

  1. When a resident refuses a medication, click [No] next to the dose.

  2. A prompt appears to select the Refusal Reason (e.g., Discontinued, Resident Declined, Other).

  3. Curenta logs the refusal and allows you to click [Log Another Attempt] if additional tries are made.

  4. Each entry is timestamped, user-tagged, and organized under the same medication dose β€” avoiding clutter or duplication in records.

πŸ“‹ Benefits:

  • Ensures a clear refusal history within the [MAR].

  • Supports transparent staff communication during shift changes.

  • Allows better behavioral tracking and decision-making for care teams.

  • Prevents duplicate entries while capturing full documentation of all actions taken.

With this update, Curenta reinforces compliance, accuracy, and collaboration β€” every attempt, every note, fully captured.
